#81 Web TV: Your Golf Warm Up – The 5 Metre Putting Exercise

Today’s tip we are going to look at your golf warm up another putting warm up, your 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5  metre putts prior to going out on the golf course to play competition.

This is a continuation from the last two warm up routines. It is the final putting exercise that you can apply to your warm up regime.

Remember if you don’t warm up prior to your golf game, how do you expect to be able to perform from the word go or should I say the first tee?

What I am going to show you here is your final  warm up routine for putting that you can implement into your golf warm up regime.

I always recommend to begin with putting simply because you want to start off with the small muscles. It eases your body into the warm up and preparation for your golf game.

What we are going to look at today is another simple warm up routine for your putting.

This is what you need for this warm up routine;

  • You will need 5 golf balls
  • And your putter
So this is what you now do;
  • Step out 1 metre from the hole and place down ball 1 metre out from the hole.
  • Then step out 2 metres from the hole and place down 1 ball 2 metres out from the hole.
  • Then step out 3 metres from the hole and place down 1 ball 3 metres out from the hole.
  • Then step out 4 metres from the hole and place down 1 ball 4 metres out from the hole.
  • Then step out 5 metres from the hole and place down 1 ball 5 metres out from the hole.

Once you have the 5 balls placed down 1 metre apart, you then start from 1 metre out and putt the first ball. You then move back to the 2 metre putt and putt the ball at the hole. You then move back to the 3 metre putt and putt the ball at the hole. You then move back to the 4 metre putt and putt the ball at the hole. You then move back to the 5 metre putt and putt the ball at the hole.

Repeat this about 3 times before you have completed your putting warm up.

Just ensure that your technique is pretty sound, just take a look at the video as there are a few tips for you to aware of when you putt, even in warm up and practice.

Enjoy your third golf warm up putting regime.

    Hi Tiff

    Last Saturday I didn’t score well due to and outside debate with the course manager however I did chip very well with only missing 1 chip. I also had 4 bunker shots and came out of each first time and actually made 2 send saves from these these first sand save was on the first hole so I was pleased to be able to make the putt. The warmup putts helped.

    Regards
    Peter

    Hi Tiffany.
    Many thanks for your putting lessons & golfing tips over the last few months. As I have not received any tips over the last few weeks I assume I have used up my quota. I would just like to say that your tips have had a profound effect on my game. I have lost a few strokes off my handicap with much improved putting and have now started to practice chipping. The putting went through a weird stage where I lost it for a while but I went back to your basics and am now competitive again.
    Many thanks for a such a tremendous amount of enjoyment gained from your tips which have allowed me to vastly improve and thoroughly enjoy my golf.

  3. Howdy, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback? If so how do you reduce it, any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any assistance is very much appreciated.
