#51 Web TV: Insider Secret on How To Improve The Golf Swing

How to Improve Your Golf Swing!

Are you tired of the mis-hits you encounter when you are playing golf?

Get ready as the time has come to get that golf swing of yours working the way it can with one simple tweak.

When you see this tip, you are going to be amazed how simple it is! You will have heard before but have you really listened to what you need to do here?

Now I am going to share my ‘Insider Secret” for you to improve your golf swing. So you must pay attention.

When I see golfers out playing on the golf course and even when they are practicing they are making this common error time and time again. Yet some players are aware of it sometimes, but just don’t do anything about it to fix it!

Don’t be one of those golfers who constantly complains about their golf swing and never takes the steps to improve…Be the one who is willing to add a very important element to your game! Be ahead of the rest!!!

Ok, so this week I am going to show you a way to stop topping the golf ball and watch it just trickle ahead a few metres in front of you. You won’t have to get angry with yourself, the ball or even feel embarrassed when a whole lot your friends and golf partner are watching!

Nothing worse than making a mistake when someone watches you top the ball! You feel like you want to swing harder and faster because you are so frustrated but…you know you can’t because you know the more angry you get about making a mistake the worse your golf will get!

This is best to go to the driving range first, not just arrive onto the first tee and expect to be able to do this tip instantly. It just doesn’t work like that! If you genuinely want to improve, then work on the range!

What you want to do here is to do some half swings with your shorter irons for example your 8 or 9 iron.

Get the feel of your stroke first and make sure you get the timing of your stroke!

Your aim here is to have your chin sitting on your shoulder (your right shoulder) as you make contact with the ball. You are not to lift up and see where the ball has gone…you want to feel your golf club hit the ball!

The reason you want to have your chin sitting on your right shoulder is that is keeps your upper body over the ball at contact. It’s not about your head lifting up as alot of golfers say…’I lifted my head’…it’s actually keeping your upper body over the ball. By doing this keeps your body in a better position at contact  and you will start making better contact with the ball.

Sounds simple?

Well, yes it is!

So now you have read about it, it’s time to actually view the video and see how you actually do it!

Enjoy the practice.

All these examples that you have shown 80%of my game is a bad habit that I have fallen into and with your help I have a lot of things to revise and get back to playing with a bit of confidence. I play at PORT in the comps. thus. and sat. Until you DAD told me about your web site I was giving away comp golf and play social golf, TIFFANY MIKA has given me my 2nd wind .Thank you very much and heres hoping .

      Hi Ken,

Yes Dad has mentioned you to me that you were frustrated with your golf. Ken this is fantastic that what I have shared with you that you now understand why your golf is holding you back due to your habits. ( I will just call them challenging habits). Now that you know what you need to work on Ken, just get out there and work on it. Golfers give up because they let their challenging habits beat them and they are not game enough to make a change and improve for the better. Be proud of yourself Ken that are one of those golfers who is determined to take action and make a difference. Well done! Keep me updated with your progress. Tiff 🙂

Hi Tiff – I think this is one of the most common mistakes which I make.. can’t wait to see where my shot will land ! I’m out there again tomorrow,… and so help me.. I WILL keep my shoulder below my chin !! Thanks so much for all your previous tips.. I have gone from a very ‘lacking in confidence’ 45 handicapper to a much more assured 33 handicap and coming down.. Thanks again.. your tip is my favourite part of the golfing week..

    • Tiffany Mika September 18, 2013 at 10:16 pm #

      Hey Ari,

Well how exciting is that! I love it!

How good is that actually knowing what to do and what to work on! You sound like you are well and truly on your way being a very confident golfer. My favourite saying is “Knowledge is Power”…and it sound like to me that you are gaining alot more knowledge and understanding on what to do.

      Congratulations Ari!

      Keep in touch!

      Tiff 🙂

  6. Virginia September 19, 2013 at 7:53 pm #

Hi…used the swing tip today. It made a huge difference to tee and fairway woods. I hit straighter and more elevation.. Not the awful skinnying along the ground .
    Thanks heaps

    • Tiffany Mika September 20, 2013 at 9:13 pm #

      Hi Virginia,
Yes it does make a great difference to your swing. The ball responds so much better off the club face. You are welcome and keep on practicing 🙂 Tiff

  7. Joy September 20, 2013 at 6:56 pm #

I need lots more practice I think … I now find I hit the ground behind the ball.

Not a good day at Nelson Bay 🙁

    • Tiffany Mika September 20, 2013 at 9:18 pm #

      Hi Joy,
Don’t be discouraged if you are hitting the ground before the ball, you could be doing a couple of things…possibly using too much of your hands controlling the club and not turning your body, plus are you bobbing your body up and down? That means when you are taking your club back is your body lifting up and then when you are coming down to the ball are you dropping your upper body too low? It’s a challenging game… Don’t try and apply on the golf course when you learn something new…you want to go and practice for a while on the driving range so you can get it right. Tiff 🙂
