#16 Web TV: How to Use Golf Impact Bag in Backyard

In this week’s tip we are going to look at a fantastic practice aid that can assist in improving your golf swing.

I want to share with you a way to use the Golf Impact Bag at home in your backyard when you don’t have an opportunity to get to the driving range or out onto the golf course.

The reason I think this is a great practice aid is because you can really work on your impact position, you can feel the position at impact plus learn to use your hips in your swing as opposed to using your arms and wrists.

If you do this drill at home or a park wherever suits, without the ball, just working with the bag you will be amazed how much your impact position will improve when you are making contact with the golf ball.

I will point out to you, it’s not about the power from the arms, it is all about using the hips. Just remember that tip!

    Hi Tiffany,

I really look forward to your weekly tips. I am feeling more confident now using a rescue club for chipping after watching your lesson.

I play with a group of ladies whose handicaps range from 45 to 38 and have sent them your web link so they can learn from you as well.

    Thanks heaps for the tips,

      Hi Patsy,
Thank you for the great feedback on my weekly tips. I really do want to help people improve their golf as it is such a wonderful game.
It is really exciting that you are becoming more confident using your hybrid club, it does make things a bit easier if your chipping is not performing the way you want it to.
Thank you too for referring me to your friends. Enjoy the practice 🙂

Tiff, I have been using the impact bag and I feel it has really helped me in gaining more distance. I like the fact that you are now showing us how to use the bag. I am going to keep referring to it as sometimes I get a little too armsie. Thankyou for all your good tips.

Hi Judith, how cool is that by using the impact bag you feel you have gained distance. Yes always make sure that the power and down swing comes from the hips an snot the arms. The impact bag is there to be used for feeling the position at impact. Glad you enjoy the tips. Keep up the practice 🙂

    Hi Tiff,

Looking through your tips I came across the impact bag. I think using mine will, I hope, be of benefit to me – keeping my left arm straight and slight bent, and hip turning.

    Thank you,
