Putting Tips-How To Improve Your Putting Accuracy

I’ve got a putting challenge for you today. I’ve been giving out a few little drills lately for putting. I’m going to set a challenge up for you today. I want to see how you go with it.

Something simple, something we have worked on previously, but, we are going to add a little twist to it.

Step about a metre from the hole, I hope you have been working on the one metre putts.

Now, I want you to see how many putts you can get into the hole using just your right hand only. If you’re a right handed golfer, then it’s going to be right hand only. If you are a left handed golfer, then it would be your left hand only.

Now we want to see how many putts you can sink in the hole with your right hand only.

The same as the other drills, make sure you stand behind the ball… go through the process of actually lining the ball up.

There is no point in standing over the top of the ball and hoping that the ball will go into the hole. You want to make sure that you take the time to line the ball up, go back and check the line, come back down and get set, and then work on making sure you sink the putts.

My challenge to you, I want to hear from you, is how many putts can you do, in a row, without making a mistake and I’ll give you five tries at doing it.

We’ll say the first four times you go through it is just practice, and on your actual fifth go, let’s see how many putts you can get into the hole in a row, without making a mistake. That means without missing the hole!

That’s the challenge I’ve got for you, are you up for the challenge?

I want to hear from you. I want you to leave me a comment and say, yes, I am up for the challenge, before you even go and start it. Then after you have participated in the challenge I want you to send me another comment and share with me your final result.

I want to hear from you! Don’t neglect this one, it’s a very essential piece to the puzzle of making sure you sink the short putts.

Have an absolutely awesome day, take care, and remember; Tee it high and Let it fly.

Hi Tiff: Like all your putting demos so I will try the challenge. You know this will be hard for me as I don’t like putting just with my right hand! I will also have Dana view your putting tips as I know she will get much out of them, now that’s she’s on the ‘golf train’! We’re still playing, Dana, me and Anne until the snow flies. `Best and take care. -Dave O. VT

      Hi Dave

Thanks Dave for the great comments about the putting demos. No one much likes putting with their right hand only, but then if you were playing tennis you would use one hand wouldn’t you? It’s so you can get the understanding of the role of the right hand.

Say hello to Dana and Anne, and enjoy your golf until the snow arrives. 😉

      Tiff 😉
